The respite is a two-story custom wood dome house built in the 1980’s. Encased in old hardwoods, it feels like the foothills though you are in the Piedmont. The stars and moon beam brightly and the sun casts light in varying hues through surround windows every minute of the day. you can spy blue herons soaring through the wetland creek.

Camping is available on three camp sites, two with tent platforms bordering the creek and one in an outcrop deep back canopy forest floor. All sites have a fire pit. There is also a fire pit reserved for guests of the roundhouse, or through special events apart from camping. If interested in camping on your own (not part of a retreat, special event or gathering), you are welcome to use the contact form or book via the Respite’s Hipcamp Site.
